Payday Haul

Payday is a very dangerous time for me, and i'm sure that I am not the only one that thinks this! I see money in my account and automatically feel like I need to spend it. So this month I decided to have one big splurge and then that would be me for the rest of the month!

I first decided that I would purchase the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation which retails at £34 so was quite pricey. I have read many reviews on this product and wanted a foundation that was medium/full coverage and that was highly pigmented so that I wouldn't need to use much to get my desired look; I always find that I run out of foundation so quick and I like top brand foundations so they do not come cheap when having to re-purchase them a lot! I got mine in the colour cashew beige, having found my colour on Findation.com. The tube was a lot smaller than I thought it would be when it arrived, but having tried the foundation out on myself, the colour is perfect and I only needed a really small amount which was perfect. I applied this foundation using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which is one of my favourite brushes to use when applying foundations. It gave me a really dewy, silky finish and I found it lasted all day on my skin, I used Rimmel Stay Matte Powder over the top and only had to apply that once as it sat really nicely on my skin. It hid all of my blemishes and redness and didn't look or feel cakey or heavy on my skin which was nice as I literally felt like I had no makeup on. I would definitely recommend this foundation if your looking to try something new; let me know in the comments what you thought of this foundation!

I know this looks dark for me on here but I do wear fake tan!

Next I decided to take a look on MAC as I have recently purchased a MAC x15 eyeshadow palette and I am going to gradually start filling it up! I do already have two mac eyeshadows in a x4 palette which are 'charcoal brown' and 'omega', both colours I use on my eyebrows with a MAC 266 angled brush. I also have 'wood winked' eyeshadow in an individual pot which I absolutely love, wood winked is definitely a favourite eyeshadow of mine as I think it compliments any skin tone and is perfect for either the day time or night time.
The colours that I purchased this pay day were 'Naked Lunch' and 'Sable'. I wanted two colours that I could wear during the day that would work well together and had a slight shimmer. I was drawn to these two colours after watching the Tanya Burr-Demi Lovato look on YouTube and I instantly fell in love with the look and new that I had to have the colours. I am very happy that I got these two colours as they blend so well together and compliment each other so much, and I have now FINALLY started to fill my pallet and am excited to buy more colours. The MAC eyeshadows retail at £10 for the ones in the pans and I think they are so worth the money!

Naked Lunch on the right and Sable on the left.

I also picked up the MAC 217 blending brush as I have read amazing reviews on this brush and I am so glad I did. I have only learnt how to do eyeshadow through watching YouTube videos and think this brush is so easy to use for people who have no idea what they are doing. It fits directly into your crease and applies the shadow exactly where it needs to be. The brush retails at £18 which is quite expensive but it is definitely worth the money and I highly recommend this brush! I also have the MAC 239 eye shader brush for applying my base eyeshadow and think it is just as amazing and easy to use. I do think the MAC brushes are definitely the best types of brushes out there!

I was also happy to see that I had received a free sample from MAC which was the Zoom Fast Black Lash. This retails at £14, I have tried this and I do think it is okay, I don't love it  but I will give it a couple more tries to see what I really think. My favourite mascara is Maybelline Falsies Mascara Black Drama and I think it is going to take something really special to make my change my mind on that!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and let me know in the comments below what MAC eyeshadows you would recommend me to buy for my palette!

Love,
Beatrice
